The first two weeks of your baby’s life go by fast — and newborns are at their curliest and sleepiest during them. Léa has been photographing newborns for 15 years with a calm, practiced approach that prioritizes your baby’s comfort and safety. Sessions include wraps, props, organic backdrops, and parent/sibling portraits. The result is a small archive of images that look as quiet and tender as those first days actually felt.

Many newborn families prefer an in-home session during the first two weeks — fewer logistics, baby is settled, easier feeding breaks. We bring the full studio setup: pro lighting, wraps, backdrops, props. All we need from you is a room with some natural light. Results match our studio work exactly.
You don’t buy any props or outfits. Our newborn collection includes organic wraps, delicate knit outfits, simple rompers, and matching parent pieces. The props: natural wooden bowls, vintage baskets, muslin backdrops, and wooden swings. Everything is washed between sessions. On the day, we pull 3–5 looks based on your baby’s mood and skin tone.
About two weeks after your session, your private online gallery goes live. Every image is color-corrected in our signature style; blinks, blurs, and in-between frames are removed before you see anything — you’re only choosing from real deliverables. Your package includes a set number of high-res downloads, plus the option to select additional favorites for advanced retouching or fine-art printing. Extra images beyond the package are listed in the gallery at a flat price.
Advanced newborn retouching is Léa’s specialty. Per-image work that handles what color-correction can’t: evening baby skin (acne, peeling, redness), removing umbilical stubs cleanly, softening diaper marks, cleaning up wrap wrinkles, blending creases. Everything is gentle — your baby should look like themselves, just polished. The before/after gallery shows real examples from past newborn sessions.
Fine Art Digital Composition is the service behind those floating-baby-in-a-basket portraits you’ve seen. We photograph your baby in a safe studio setup, then composite into a painted scene — mossy forest floor, vintage window ledge, cloud-like backdrops. Each piece is built image by image over several hours and includes full retouching. Commission one as a signature wall piece. The gallery has real examples.

We offer fine-art prints, matted and framed wall art, small prints for grandparents, folio boxes, and linen-bound albums that lay flat. Everything is printed in a professional lab on archival paper. Le Studio NYC welcomes newborn families from across New York — Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Park Slope, DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill), Manhattan (the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, SoHo, Tribeca, Chelsea, the West Village), and occasionally Queens and the surrounding area. Many parents prefer an at-home session during the first two weeks — it's quieter, and your baby is most comfortable. Studio sessions in our Brooklyn location are equally popular. Either way, we make it simple and calm.
Newborn sessions book during pregnancy — the ideal window is your 30th–36th week. We reserve your slot tentatively, then firm it up when baby arrives. We used Léa at Le Studio for our newborn photoshoot. We could not be more pleased with our experience. Léa was a fantastic and highly skilled newborn photographer. Her artistry is apparent in how she manages both the technical photography aspects of the shoot, interacting with the newborn (she is a baby whisperer!) and making the newborn's parents feels comfortable and happy throughout the entire session. Booking was super easy and quick and she follows up by text, email and phone call if she has not heard from you or if you have further questions which makes you really feel like a valued customer. Image turn around was quick and the final product was stunning and priceless. Highly recommend Léa and Le Studio, she's worth it!
If you choose Le Studio for your newborn photography session you will no-doubt get beautiful photographs just like what you see on her website and social media, but you will also be able to breathe a sigh of relief that your child is in the hands (literally) of someone who is careful, considerate, and knowledgeable. I actually learned a few soothing techniques watching Léa so carefully wrap and position my daughter throughout the photo shoot. Léa also was accommodating in giving us more time than what was quoted so that we could feed and allow our daughter to fall back asleep. I am super happy with the photography results and also glad that the experience itself was as smooth as it was. I plan to use Le Studio for future milestone events in my family’s life.
